Summary

I wanted to make a mount to hold a dial indicator to my Ender 3 Pro for bed leveling, but I also wanted to make a way to hold pens to use it to draw. The obvious choice was to make a device that allows me to swap out parts quickly and easily.

The idea is each pen has its own dedicated holder, so you can put it in, adjust its height so it is at the Z height position, then tighten the bolts down. Once you have them all adjusted properly you can swap them in/out and not have to mess around with adjusting the stick out every time.

I made 6 different swap out parts:
1 - Dial Indicator holder (This holds a dial indicator at the right height over the bed. I use this for precise bed leveling). I made this to fit a Mitutoyo dial indicator, I cant say if other brands will fit.
2 - Felt tip pen holder.
3 - Ball point pen holder.
4 - Sharpie marker holder.
5 - Texta pen holder (The ones that clip together that you would make into pretend guns in primary school).
6 - Blank Panel (This hides the dovetail on the printer when you're not using any of the other attachments)

Once the pens/markers/indicator are in place, use two M3x10mm Bolts and nuts to tighten them to lock them in.

The holders attach to the main body (which is attached to the printer) by a dovetail join. The female is .2mm larger than the male, which for my printer makes a very snug fit. The only exception is the blank panel which I made a bit looser as it doesn't support anything.

The Main body mounts to the Ender 3 Pro (not sure if it will work on the standard Ender 3) with the 2 M3 bolts that come with the printer, I also added an extra mounting point using the vents on the side of the hot end, so you won't have to drill holes in it, you'll just need an additional M3x10mm Bolt and nut.

I also made a small rack that can be screwed into a wall to hold all your parts when they are not in use.
