I was very surprised to find out there was not a clear cut set of 1/4-20 nuts and bolts already available. Well here it is. I've included a 2 inch bolt (easy to cut down) a collar nut (also easy to cut down,) a washer, and a bushing (a great way to make the screw an axle.)
As its plastic, it's not particularly strong so I took advantage of that by making a mini thumb screw on the bolt. if you don't like it, just cut it off with a knife.
Tip: if you tighten up the bolt, to the point you like, mark the last thread you see, unthread the bolt, and then sprinkle a bit of baking powder on the 3 or 4 threads that will go into the bolt and put a drop of crazy glue on it and let it dry. This will thicken up those last 3 turns on on the bolt so when you replace the bolt on the nut, it will bind very tightly and not unscrew, kinda like a nylon washer lock nut.
