This will work with the MeFOTO RoadTrip or Backpacker tripods. Would I trust this to hold my Hasselblad and telephoto lens securely? Probably not - Use the genuine and beautifully machined MeFOTO part for critical applications (at $28, it is CNC, rock-solid insurance).
However, this widget is ideal for lighter duty situations, like a point and shoot or (D)SLR. Perhaps a 3D printed pinhole camera?
