Remix of original Q1 Pro Lid Riser by Ragnars0n
This is for the newer Q1 Pro machines coming out in the middle of year 2024, and likely all manufactured after that. The first run of these printer by Qidi had a larger opening and lid on the top and the original lid riser files I remixed from Ragnars0n were larger and would not fit the lid and opening of my printer, I have seen one other person mention this elsewhere and I found it to be true, at least in my case. It is my understanding that Qidi made a change after its initial run that made the top opening and lid roughly 3mm shorter in each direction, give or take, so the original design by Ragnars0n would not fit on my Q1 Pro.
I also added cutouts in the corners to facilitate the little ledges/flares on each corner of the lid, and while they aren't perfect I find they really help to hold the lid and riser in place such that you don't really need to glue the 4 corners of the riser together and can just snap them all on and are good to go (part of this is also Ragnars0n's original design with the inset grooves).
I knocked off the sharp corners on the edges of the riser as well, shortened the 4 corners to fit newer machines, and added some simple joinery to the ends for the pieces to interlock with each other and give a nice hidden location for gluing them together if that is something you want to do, but I chose not to as the fit is already good enough and they stay in place on their own.
Ragnars0n printed their original design with TPU but after all the measurements and testing I have this model set just right for printing out of non-flexible filaments where everything is a nice snug friction fit with both the lid and the printer/rubber corner gaskets that are built into the corners of the Q1 pro lid opening, thus there isn't a need to print using TPU unless you are looking for a better airtight seal that TPU may afford you, however this design on its own sits rather well for my needs.
I would like to thank Ragnars0n for the good work on adding the cutouts and contouring that follow the lid's handle shapes as well, that was the main selling point that led me to choose their original design and all I really did was make a few changes to fit my newer machine size and to print using non-flexible filaments.
NOTE: I am a physicist, not a professional CAD designer, so while I don't believe there are any errors in the models, I cant be certain. The files added are the identical files I printed with so good luck and I hope they work out as well for you as they did for me! Have fun printing!
