The file 'Pumpkin Spider (PLA Remixes Combo) 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.0MB.
I wanted to print Megawillbot's fantastic transforming spider in PLA and in multiple colors, so I pulled together remixes, only to encounter issues with the body base and neck - snapping during assembly or ball joints just not able to fit their receiving counterparts.
After much trial and error, here's what worked for me:
The torso piece was selectively resized for a slightly smaller center ball joint. The ball joint also has slightly flattened on poles for easier insertion (flat sides against receiving end, turn 90 degrees after insertion).
I also rebuilt neck piece for better fit.
I printed at both .15 and .2 layer sizes; it didn't seem to make a difference for PLA.
I highly recommend printing pieces in the following order (based on ease to reprint/adjust), to verify fit and make adjustments as you go along:
SpiderPumpkinBigEye.stl | 17.4KB
SpiderPumpkinBody.stl | 2.1MB
SpiderPumpkinNeck.stl | 673.2KB
SpiderPumpkinSmallEye.stl | 16.4KB
SpiderPumpkinTorsoPeg.stl | 1.1KB |
