The file 'Prusament PET-G Clamp Optimized 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 40.3MB.
While learning to use Autodesk Generative Design in Fusion 360 I needed a sample part to test the workflow and decided the Prusament PET-G Clamp could use some optimization.
I based the dimensions on the original Prusament PET-G Clamp so I could compare the two for strength and print time. It also means the parts are exchangeable.
Depending on your print settings this C-Clamp prints a bit faster than the original and uses about 20% less material. But more importantly it is capable of exerting much higher clamping force with less deformation.
While I was at it I also redesigned the Screw spindle as the original is a bit uncomfortable and the thread doesn't really print very well. I also added some fillets and chamfers to reduce stress concentrations.
I uploaded normal resolution STL's and also some High Quality ones for the clamp and screw (HQ suffix). These are very large files but contain a little bit more detail.
If you end up printing one please share som pictures!
