Summary

This is a simple Y-Axis bearing that will not bind and is simple to print and remove and install. Can be installed without removing the build plate or the old bearings.

Mine (printable bushing-lm8uu) got gunked up and started binding. So I drew this up, printed it, and works great.

Should work fine with either 5/16 (which is 7.95 mm) or 8mm smooth rods.

Check fit before installing. If too tight use a spare smooth rod and force it on. Now use a cigarette lighter to heat the end of the rod and quickly slide bearing down into the hot spot to loosen it up. Check the slide again and heat it again if need be. That is simple and now you have a long-lasting bearing that won't bind at all or near as bad.

Hope it works for you.

Thanks, Rick.
