Summary

This is the x-carriage designed for my upgrade set to use 10mm steel bars and bushes for my Prusa i3 Steel derivative.

Comprised of two parts held together by M3 cap screws, it is designed for 4 by 20 x 10 mm Oilite bushes.

The X-belt is simply pushed into the gripper (I use a small quantity of soapy water to help insert it).

I have added holes to allow the bushes to be oiled. The rear component has two small holes on top and two at the rear for this purpose and I just inject a few drops of oil into these using a syringe. To hold the oil, on mine I added small felt pads wrapped around the 10mm rod into the central groove.

The 3mm holes on the underside of the rear part are for optional 3mm rare earth magnets that can be used to hold things like layer fan ducts etc.
