Proxxon/Dremel Bit Organizer
I didn't find a tool bit organizer for my Proxxon, that fit all my criteria, so I designed my own one in Fusion360. It can of course be used to store any other type of rotary tool bits (e.g. for Dremel)
Model Details
- The organizer can fit 60 tool bits
- Dimensions (length x width x height): 101mm x 107mm x 72mm (3.98in x 4.21in x 2.83in)
- The holes are 3.7mm (0.15in) in diameter. Normally 3.15mm are enough for the thicker bits, but I added some margin, to avoid any requirement of postprocessing the holes.
- The holes are 23mm (0.9in) deep, which fits all bits nicely and is enough to give some hold to the thinner bits.
- the holes are shifted between the individual layers to make access easier.
- The lower tray is 25mm (0.98in) deep which fits most cutting and sanding disks.
- There are six wider holes next to the tray that have a diameter of 5.6mm (0,22in). These can fit the six proxxon bit holders.
Tips for printing
I originally had the lower half of the model hollow, but changed it after I sliced it and didn't found much improvement in print time compared to a version with low infill. As this model doesn't have high structural requirements, I made some changes to my default print profile.
- Reduce to 3 bottom layers (It is only a flat surface)
- Reduce to 5 Top layers (Adjust this in combination with temperature and infill. If you print hot and with less infill, you might need more to get a flat top, otherwise even 4 can work)
- 10% infill
- Reduce to 2 Outer walls (if you don't mind ghosting)
