The file 'Propain Tyee 5 / Spindrift – Bearing Protection / Inside Dirt Shield 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 46.6KB.
Hi Propain friends,
I think the original bearing seals ("Dirtshields") on the Pro10 system are basically quite nice, even if they need a bit of feeling when fitting. However, I don't think the concept has been thought through to the end as the inside of the bearing is almost open in three out of four places.
I've only been riding my 2020 (5er) Tyee for one season. Compared to hardcore bikers, this is also rather occasional (20-25 rides/year). Including all kinds of things (bike park, trails, tours) in all weather conditions. Even with regular bike cleaning/care/maintenance, I have permanent dirt on the inside of the respective bearings. One of the bearings is already running a bit "sandy" and no longer completely silent.
So I designed a customized bearing guard for the inside and ran it through my 3D printer. It fits perfectly and protects the bearing from the worst dirt and water splashes.

As a picture you can find an overview for which bearings the seals are meant for on the Tyee 5, 2020. 6 individual seals are needed in total (3 bearing points each with inner and outer sides)! In addition, a few bearing dimensions for all those who may want to test it on other Propain models. Feel free to try it out and give me feedback
Info-Update 24.03.24:
the seals also fit the Spindrift AL 4 2021 model. However, only 4 instead of 6 gaskets are required
