* NOTICE UPDATE 11/18/2018 **
So it's been a while, life eh. Well I have been working on a new set, a 2.0 so to speak.
Some of you will be happy the updates, some will not.
I post this to let you know the new Dungeon Tiles set is still in process....
The news on the new set:
It is not backwards compatible with older dungeon tiles…
It is not going to be 1 inch x 1 inch... it will be 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 like Wyloch/True Tiles
Why) After playing with my set for years, 1inch squares is too small for miniatures. Also I don’t have huge scale battles or set up entire dungeons before hand. It’s almost always a room or two.
The walls will be slightly taller, though half walls will be available.
Why) I always thought the doors were a little small, so I made them slightly bigger, but then the ratio didn’t look right, so they are slightly taller, About 8mm taller.
The floor height (from table top to top of floor piece) will be taller
Why) Design considerations, the floor piece is now the same thickness as the magnetic base. This is so you can place a floor piece right up to a base and it looks planned, because it was. ALSO in regards to the height of the walls, they are sized so that if you stacked bases on top of eachother 7+floor they will be the same height as the wall. This was important to me for future designs.
The clips will be different - yea yet another clip…
Why) I know this is a touchy subject, I love openLock, but for my needs. The open lock is limiting. The new clips will be able to clip to OpenLock, but sadly not to my old designs. But the new clips, that I have spent a year prototyping - I freaking love.
The greatest features are the same!
The walls/floor/base are separate and modular!..Want stone walls and a wooden floor - you can do it. Mix and match, replace a tall wall for those who cannot see with a half wall. It’s magnetic.
It’s Magnetic! Sure you can glue the pieces together like OpenForge’s construction tiles, but if you want the wall, base, floor to be magnetic let them be magnetic!
Open doors, replaceable doors, sliding doors are still here. Yes, need that wooden door, no problem. Opps wait was it a gate? No Problem. Iron Door? No Problem!
Square piece, check. Diagonal piece, check. Quarter round piece, check, Half piece, check. Alcove piece, double check!
New Mew Features?
Triple locks were really nice, instead of just clip in the center, why not have three? Let them be three
Tired of the brick wall? Well the new set isn’t the same plain old brick wall!
They are 1.25 inches per square!
Batteries won’t be included, but I believe I have been able to add some space for them!
Lastly - it is still freaking free
So the new set, is still currently being worked on… yeah, for the last year… but I hope to have them out in December! (Barring design issues - truth be told, I have modeled most of the basic pieces, but printing has been sloooow… as my printer died over the summer…)
* NOTICE UPDATE END **
Open Dungeon Tiles
We are still here - went to the mountain to beef up on Blender.
Have new designs that will let the big boys know Piece Bringer isn't playing around.
You want a magnetic dungeon? You will get a magnetic dungeon.
OPEN DUNGEON TILES: Choose Your Dungeon Series!
Will be backwards compatible.
Will be compatible with other popular designs.
Will be completely earth shattering that it will probably be copied.
Also
OPEN DUNGEON TILES: All Your Bases Are Belong To All Series!
With openlock, dragon bite, infinity lock, and other sets it is hard to get the base you want.
I believe the "All Your Bases Are Belong To All Series" will solve this.
Coming soon!
I am still in the modeling phase of my designs. This means that if you have things you want to see in a dungeon comment below!
