I created this project to show people how you can control a dc motor using an encoder and Arduino. I have a tutorial on how to wire the circuit and the source code so you can make your own.
You can change the end of the shaft so it can control various things. In this project I just used a thin rope to lift an object (electric drill) to a specific height and lower it back down the same amount.
None of the files require supports I try to keep most of my designs support free. Check out the video down below if you want to make your own. Material list is in the video description
