After printing my own cable chain and getting disappointed with the results, I broke down and bought some Igus cable chain. It's pricey but you know what - you get what you pay for.
I made this little end piece that fits into the hole in the sheet metal that the wires go through. Then I took one of the Igus links and drilled a 2mm hole through it. I bolted it all together and it fits pretty well. The link with the mounting hole is backwards from the rest of the links, but they still fit together. Because of the nut and bolt holding everything securely, my end piece will float a little in the hole.
This fits my xyz davinci 1.0 PRO 3d printer.

I made a revision.
It fits a little tighter now, less floating.
I added a small index tab to the back piece so they fit together now.
Overall, just a little bit better now.
