The E3D hot end is shorter than the Ubis hot end. So the plate that the extruder mounts to extends below the tip of the hot end. This model lowers the platform so that the extruder sits at a level appropriate for the E3D, but still allows mounting to the Printrbot Plus X-Carriage assembly.
