The file 'Printable V8 Engine (probably Working) 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 88.7MB.
all the engines i have seen have been basic block, crank, and pistons except that one inline 4 that is up and that one is wonderfully and very nicely done but it is not a v8. so i build a v8 now i do not have a 3d printer so i was saddle unable to test print this but something i do know about the model is that i would use steel/brass rod for some of the parts i have in the files. the rod's to hold the rocker arms in place straight parts of the crank shaft the push rods really should be steel or brass. now this is not a print and put together and you are set to go thing all models will need some work when i modeled all the parts i did so with very tight tolerances the pistons are going to need to be sanded and likely most of the other parts are to so don't think of that as a print and get going think of it as a plastic modeling kit like you buy at the hobby store. the reason for the model is that i wanted a model of a engine with all the parts that work that is not a inline 4 meaning rocker heads, valves, pistons, camshaft, and all that fun stuff. but i did not make this to be a replica or a direct example of some brand of motor this is meant to depict how a v8 engine works and is meant for education and such or as a nice desk toy. if you fined any problems witch there are likely many of let me know and i will fix them i have intentions of doing similar things like this with other motors like flat engines inline engines and w engines. and if you make one or even just print a part one of the parts let me know in the comments and post a picture i would like to see how this project turns out.
If you make this project or want to i recommend you scale it up by 11 or 12 to get a good size and appropriate detail.
i did upload the complete engine with everything where it is suppose be so you know what it is suppose look like put together or so you can investigate it and learn how it works for yourself.
Update 1.1
so what i have done is i build a intake manifold for this engine and made a set of valve covers. because of both of these both the heads and the block have been changed and updated. once i had finished the intake manifold i looked at it and thought it was no awesome enough so what do you do when a engine is not awesome enough you stick a big blower on so i did. the blower should work i wanted to make it a single pulley straight to one of the compressor blades from the crank shaft but that would put to much stress on the rods attached to the end of the compressor blades so i build a complicated series of gears that would connect the crank to the blower. i recommend to use a rubber band to connect the two pulleys that are on the front to connect the crank to the first gear in the system to tech crank. those of you that want to use a metal rode for things like that you can just stick one of the pulleys i uploaded onto the end of it and use a rubber band to connect the two.
i am currently working on a v10 engine this one is going to be fuel injected or modeled as such let me know with a comment if you are looking forward to that or what you would like to see out of the v8 i have done. i have planes to create Hemi heads and piston for the same block so you can build a engine that is unique to you and the way you want it like in a video game.
