Summary

I found this PowerUp 4.0 kit at a thrift store for $6 (it retails for over $100, so major score). It's meant to be used to attach a controllable motor to paper airplanes. I thought it would be fun to try a 3d printed version of one of their plane designs (Invader). In my opinion, it works much better and is much easier to control than your basic paper airplane.

Print at .2 layer height. It's only meant to be two main layers for the body to allow for the fold lines. Nose has some extra weight to keep it down. Make sure the first layer lines direction goes with the wingspan end to end (rather than nose to rear), otherwise folds will be weaker. The holes are meant for either a zip tie or a twist tie (twist ties are easier). Model will nearly fill up your entire build plate, so it also makes for a great test for accurate level!
