Summary

This is my power distribution box I used in my Ammo Box Battery project. The KiCad, gerber, flatcam, and gcode files are attached in case you want to make the PCB. Note it is made as a double sided PCB to ensure there is enough copper to carry the 30A of current. Also, I only made one of these PCBs and you will need to double check the dimension for the cutout on the top panel for the input power because I made it wrong originally. I just cannot remember if I fixed it for sharing.

When soldering the spade clips into the PCB, be sure to use a fuse to hold them in place to ensure proper alignment and orientation.

The cover and base use 3mm hex socket screws and hex nuts.

This thing was made with Tinkercad. Edit it online https://www.tinkercad.com/things/aij7RCkeB2j

Update 06/23/24: I discovered there is not enough copper to handle the 30A for the design and I had to add a wire from the positive battery input connector pin to the positive legs of the fuses. After adding the wire, the contactor breaks before anything else.

Update 07/02/24: I modified the PCB layout to remove the pin holes for double sided CNC machining and the holes around the vias. I believe that was the major cause for the fusing of the traces. I added a picture of my board with the wires added and showing the fused parts of the copper in the lower right corner. This version V2 should be much better, but you can add wires like I did just to be certain. I recommend making the PCB with plated holes using a PCB vendor. There should be some available that can make this board at low cost. Ask for as much copper as you can on both sides to ensure current carrying capacity. Note the mounting holes are not plated and should not be plated.
