The Porlex mini coffee hand grinder fits into the plunger of the Aeropress, however, when pushed in too far, the catch can part of the grinder can get stuck inside the plunger. The spacer keeps the grinder from getting pressed in too far.
The center of the spacer has an undercut, so it can be easily removed from the plunger with a long stick.
