This is the fifth print in my President's day freedom print week, I will post a new piece of art every day that advocates for People's rights and freedoms across the Globe. I will be posting a lot about the events that have unfolded in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia in the last year. I wish to show people the atrocities of China and I STRONGLY advocate for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, Xinyang, Myanmar, and everywhere people have to fear for their lives whenever they speak out against the government.

This wasn't my first choice today, however after hearing about what happened to Ukraine I made this as soon as possible

After the formation of East and West Berlin, Soviet-Controlled East Germany tried to suppress Christianity as much as possible, banning religious images and even crosses on churches. They fear that if the people revered a power mightier than their leaders they might rise against their oppressors. Despite this, many of the largest and grandest buildings were still churches. They wanted to create a landmark that stood tall against Christianity, something that would create an icon for their regime. Hermann Henselmann was put to the task. after demolishing much of the damaged buildings from East Germany( and destroying all but one of the original medieval churches in Berlin) They constructed the Berlin tv tower. In this plan, however, there was one fundamental flaw-something that no paint, chemicals, or other substances the Soviets used could destroy-every day at the same time, A perfect cross would appear on the tower, and it could be seen from both sides of the wall. Dubbed the 'Pope's Revenge' it became a beacon of hope that East Berliners would never give in completely to their oppressors.
Something similar has happened in China. Ever since the CCP came to power, they have purged all types of cultures and religions, from Islam in Xinjiang to Buddhists in Tibet and southern China. Above all, they tolerate Christianity the least. They believe that they can keep their people under control if the only righteous cause is, well, the CCP. and yet, even today, China had the largest underground Christan organization, larger than even the population of the U.K. Larger than the most famous underground Christain movement in the Roman Empire. No matter how hard the government tries to suppress their people's identities and cultures, they still stand.
Don't give up hope, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, Myanmar, and now Ukraine, for giving in only makes their cause righteous.
