A friend could not find a commercial replacement skimmer basket for his pool. When I showed him a picture of the hayward skimmer basket i made, he asked if I could make a rectangular one. Of course, Why not? First I searched thingiverse but could not find the just right skimmer basket, so I reverse engineered one.
I have included the Fusion360 file and a step file in case you need to make adjustments. I used some parametric dimensions in Fusion 360 I printed it thick and strong. It took 17 hours but I was in no hurry and set my print speeds slow.
I made it from eSun PLA+ green
Extruder 215C
Bet 60C
Speed 40mm/s
Dimensions:
basket outside Top 126mm x 100mm (not the top lip)
basket outside bottom 111mmx 70mm
basket height 92mm (to under lip)
shell thickness 3mm
It sort of doesn't need supports because I built in some cutaway tabs but a support column in each corner wouldn't hurt.
Happy printing.
