Summary

The OEM filter for the pool blaster vacuums are not great. I have had a couple of pool blaster "rush" vacuums and I found that a pleated filter from the pool section of a hardware store fits in the device and works so much better. Not sure of the precise filter type but they measure approximately four inches in diameter and three and three quarters inches long and are originally intended for filtering above ground pools. One of the prints plugs one end of the filter and the other mates the filter to the vacuum. The pictures are recent and are of the original prints from three years ago. PLA does have some longevity. I put a hex extension on the plug in order to "spin clean" the filter using a drill. I never did find that very useful... it is hard not to get wet when hosing it off at the same time. Perhaps an adapter to connect a garden hose that spins the filter and rinses it from the inside out?

I see that someone else published pretty much the same thing already. Oh well.

Addendum: I started using the spin clean option without spraying with the hose at the same time and it works better than I thought it would. I am skipping spraying the filter with the hose at the moment and it is no worse for relative cleanliness yet faster and I am getting less wet.
