This is basically an adapter to use a camera phone with a Polaroid pack camera. The phone takes a photo of the film plane which has a diffusion screen on it, giving you a picture of what the Polaroid camera "sees." There is around 8 stops of light loss, so it will work outdoors, but doesn't work indoors very well. The adapter can be adapted for a normal digital camera which you can connect a flash to for indoors use, but the flash would have to be quite powerful to work well.

Use any dispersion screen, or ground glass (Lee 400 filters work well), cutting out a piece that fits into the cartridge. Place the top of the cartridge onto the filter to clamp it into place. Remove the back from the Polaroid camera and install the back printed from here, insert the cartridge and close the door. Attach the appropriate adapter: The P20 adapter is made for the Huawei P20 with a side mounted camera and the S9 adapter is made for a center mounted camera such as for the Samsung S9 phone. Slide the tabs in one side and snap it into place. You may want to fasten it with hockey tape to ensure it doesn't pop off.

Use contact cement to glue a phone case onto the adapter and mount the phone in the phone case.

To prepare the camera, cover the electric eye with black light proof tape and install a cable release onto the pack camera. Cock the shutter and press and lock the shutter release cable to open the shutter. If possible, place the phone camera in Pro mode, choose a 4:3 format, and switch to manual focus and focus on the dispersion screen. Focus the camera and take digital photos with your Polaroid camera! Be sure to close the shutter when done. Alternatively, you can remove the shutter mechanism from the shutter body if you want to dedicate the camera to this use.
