This is a variation of a great design by lignumaqua in which I added reinforcement to help prevent the ring from splitting under the pressure of use. Polaris must make a fortune selling these things because they split like clockwork. The print I made last summer also split recently and I noticed that there is an undercut in the design just at the bottom of the threads, and a small score around the top where the sides meet it. Mine broke at the undercut, so my variation fills both of these with solid material and does not affect in any way the fit or function of the part. I just put it all back together and time will tell if this makes a difference in durability. Also, I printed it at 100% infill to maximize strength.
