My students have been obsessed with two things lately, Pokemon Go and fidget spinners. So I decided to combine the two and create a fidget spinner that looks like a Pokeball.
You will need to print the following:
UPDATE - I added a file that holds pennies (Base_ForPenny.stl)
UPDATE #2 - I added a file that holds M8 nuts (Base_ForM8.stl)
UPDATE #3 - I added a new middle button that is a little taller (should allow for a better spin)
You will also need three 608zz bearings (unless you print the Base_ForPenny file)
Once you have 3D printed all of the parts, start with the base and press-fit the 608zz bearings into the three openings. I used a small vise to help with this.
Next, "snap" the Pokehalf pieces in the openings around the bearings. These should be a tight fit, so a small amount of sanding may be required. You might also want to use super glue to permanently place the Pokehalf pieces, but with my prototypes, this was not needed.
Finally, press the Middle pieces into the center of the middle bearing on each side.
If you have any trouble, check out the pictures, or ask questions.
Now go out there and spin your Pokeball to your heart's content!
