This is a replacement for a cardboard plastic wrap (cling film) box, in which food plastic wraps are sold in my country, at the request of my wife, since these cardboard boxes tend to break down way before the plastic wrap gets used. However, while creating it I tried making it adaptable to attaching other plastic wrap rolls, as long as they're not too thick.
The cutter rail was used directly from the original cardboard box, but the cutter sliding on the rail tends to cut badly in one of the directions, and lately we got a cutter with both directions bad, so I've created a replacement cutter which can slide into the original rail, but would hold better and allow inserting thin blades, 3mm thin pieces broken off a razor blade. Optional. If you want to print the cutter - please print with supports, the rest doesn't require supports.
The side inserts holding the plastic wrap should easily slide in and out, and stay locked in place when fully in by the protruding lock pins. The release should be easy enough.
I've intended to make the side inserts symmetric, but it didn't work out - so you can see 2 sides marked "L" and "R" in the picture. I suggest marking them to avoid wrong insertion. Please note that if forced, the inserts can go into wrong sides, but they won't be sitting well, being a bit tilted.
To accommodate for different plastic wrap rolls, the diameter of the holding pins on the side inserts is relatively small, and spacers are added in case of thicker rolls.
Assembly is pretty straightforward - slide the left and right sides into each other and glue.
