Have you ever tried to cut a pill before? It's not the easiest thing in the world to do, and usually one or both of the halves go flying far away and you never can find them. I've had to cut my dogs allergy pills pretty frequently and I got tired of looking all over for the two halves, so I decided it would be simple enough to design and build a pill cutter. Of course I could've just bought one online for about $10 but why do that when I can make one?
A few design requirements:
Plastic isnt strong enough to cut the pill itself, so I decided my design would use a standard razor blade that is available from any hardware for cheap
I wanted the sides of the cutter to be enclosed to that the pill halves wouldnt go flying
I wanted it to fit a variety of standard pills
Print without support material
*Be as simple as possible while still being effective
