Summary

(Updated February 2020 - Version 2!)
This is a new PiggyBank where you can insert money through the nostrils of the pig.
It's a simple and fun design and your kids will love it!
You have a cap included which (should!) fit perfectly.

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTION! - NO COMMERCIAL USAGE OF THIS 3D MODEL!

The model can be printed without any support, it has been designed that way.

It is available in two versions:

  • Version A which is a unique body, including the eyes and the tongue, all welded together
  • Version B, which has separate eyes and tongue, making the painting process easier.
For both versions, you need to print the cap, which is the same for both versions.

Important: Each version A and B are available with two bodies: with and without a notch under the pig's tail. This notch is for those of you who have a very sticky bed, like the one provided with the Alfawise U30 or CR10S Pro just to name them. Use some tool to pop the print out of the bed. No need for support for this notch if your printer has a good profile.

Printing information:

  • No support
  • For good quality and especially a cap which is working fine, use a 0.12 mm layer height. The print time will be longer, but also the quality will be better. If your slicer supports it, you can do an infill every 2 layers (or 3 like I did). The infill can be around 10-15%, no need to use more.
  • Print speed provides better result between 50 and 65 mm/second.*
  • I strongly advise to print the cap separately, to avoid useless retractation and reducing the printing quality. Also, print separately the eyes and the tongue (all together).
  • If you feel some friction when trying to screw the cap, use some 120 grit sandpaper to sand the border of the thread of the cap and the internal thread of the body. It may happen if your printer is not well calibrated (not being able to do a perfect circle but an oval).

File list:

  • Cap.stl - The cap for the hole. It needs to be printed separately if possible.
  • A_Unibody.stl - The piggybank with merged tongue and eyes.
  • A_Unibody_without_notch.stl - the same body, but without the notch under the tail.
  • B_Body.stl - The body which doesn't have the tongue and eyes.
  • B_Body_without_notch.stl - the same body, but without the notch under the tail.
  • B_Left_eye.stl - the left eye for the Body.stl file
  • B_Right_eye.stl - the right eye for the Body.stl file
  • B_Tongue.stl - the tongue for the Body.stl file

Tool used:

  • Sculpted with ZBrush
  • Thread and cap designed in Fusion 360, then merged in ZBrush.
  • Sliced versions (GCode) with Simplify 360.

Changelog:

  • V.1.0: initial release
  • V.2.0: Flat bottom, signature inside, new cap with thread, available in parts for easy painting.
  • V.2.1: uploaded a version without the notch under the pig's tail.

Commercial usage:
As the license state, this model IS NOT for commercial usage. Thank you to not sell your 3D prints based on this model (or just reproduce almost as is to sell it....).

Thanks!
