My other design is great for people who know what they do. For those that are new to the game, it is to complex to operate. So for the rentals we wanted "grap and go". The trade-off is the piece that remains onto the rail. At least it does not bother the iron sights :)
The picatinny rail has a distance of ~50mm from the wall, when mounted.
Please be gentle and do not use much torque during the installation of countersunk head screws. Those tend to rip the piece apart. You can increase the number of walls and / or the amount of infill to increase your chances.
1x screw M4 x 30mm with pan head / round head
1x nut M4
1x wood screw 4,5 x 20,5mm(+wall thickness) with 90° (2x 45°) countersunk head (not 60°!) or some M4 screw
I increased the slack between wall piece and picatinny piece a little bit for easier insertion but never printed it after that. In case you would like change something, the SketchUp! file is included as usual.
