The Mecca of the Boy Scouts of America is Philmont Scout ranch, located in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northern New Mexico. It has achieved a cult-like following, and for good reason.
The Boy Scouts does a good job of teaching kids about orienteering, map reading etc - But something I never had as a kid was full 3d topo maps. If I had this kind of model as a kid, I know I would have spent more time engaged in orienteering classes, and less time rolling my eyes.
For all you scouts and scouters out there, I hope this brings back fond memories. I dunno about you, but I wanna go back to Philmont!
