The file 'Pet Crate Handle For Dog/Cat Crates 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.3MB.
This is a simple handle for generic metal cat/dog crates! I designed it for my cat to make his trips to the vet a little easier. It's available in two variations: one solid piece, or three separate pieces that can be superglued together.
The handle was modeled after the original handle that came with my particular crate, with only a few minor changes to make it easier to print.
I'm not sure what the maximum amount of weight it can support is, but even the glued version is very strong (I can't break it by hand, and it's supported my 14lb cat on many trips!)
Read the next paragraph if you are concerned about it breaking under a heavy load.
By printing the three separate pieces instead of the single solid piece, you can print the 'handle-left' and 'handle-right' pieces on their side, so that you don't need to clean support material out of them. It is also recommended to print these pieces on their sides for strength- they will most likely break along their layer lines if you don't. You can also try printing with a larger nozzle, increasing your hotend temperature, and printing slower to help fuse the layers together. The last picture in the image carousel shows how I laid out the pieces on my build plate to reduce stringing and get the fastest print time. These pieces fit tightly together, so a little sanding might be required where they join up, depending on your printer's tolerances!
I hope you and your pet enjoy it!
