Summary

Peristaltic pump with a gearbox.

This pump is designed to use the Mabuchi brushed DC motor (6-12V), similar to the FF-260, with a short flat shaft (see the attached photos).

The goal was to achieve low backflow at high torque while utilizing existing Mabuchi DC motors.

The pump requires quite some parts, as it is an experimental assembly.

PLA is used for all components except the gearbox, which uses PETG.

Silicone tube:
4 mm outer diameter, 2 mm inner diameter.

Bearings:
3 x D9d4B4 micro ball bearing for the main wheel,
2 x D6d3B2,5 micro ball bearing for the main wheel shaft.

Screws:
3 x DIN912 M2x5 for the main wheel halfs,
3 x DIN912 M2x10 for connecting the pumping chamber to the gearbox,
4 x DIN912 M2x18 for the pumping chamber lid,
4 x DIN912 M2x22 for the gearbox.

Nuts:
14 x DIN439 M2.

Gear train:
8 -> 14/8 -> 24/8 -> 16/8 -> 12.

Gearbox ratio:
14 / 8 * 24 / 8 * 16 / 8 * 12 / 8 = 15,75.

The choice of gear size and number of teeth, in addition to the target gear ratio, was determined by the printer’s resolution and the desire to use a standard 0,4 mm nozzle.

I used PTFE-based SuperLube grease for all the gears and shafts.
