Summary

When using green sand for casting aluminium your cope and drag boxes need to be aligned correctly. Put a set of these on the end of the long sides of your boxes and screw them to the box. Then when placing the boxes together for the pour, they will be perfectly aligned.

I personally printed them on their ends (as pictured), and used NO supports. This is the true reason for the filet on the parts. Gives a gradual width increase as you move up the model.
I printed in PLA

I included the Solidworks 2016 source files in case you want to change for smaller jewelry boxes, or MUCH larger for say engine blocks :P

Yup The mirror I print on is all cracked like crazy... but it is sitting atop my NeoCeram bed. If the mirror does not move, and stays perfectly flat where I can rub my fingers across it and not feel any groves.... It still works like a charm! I have 4 more 10" x 15" pieces to replace it with once it stops serving me well. FYI. mirrors from Home Depot / Lowes don't normally crack until about 83C. I print PLA with bed at 70C, and ABS at 80C.
