The file 'Pen Carrier 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 17.0 MB.
Problem: Needed a way to conveniently carry from 1 to 7 writing instruments along with my engineering design journal. My favorite journals to use for design journals, and for bullet journaling are the Leuchtturm Medium and Large journals, but they can only carry one pen if you buy the separate pen loop.
Solution:
Design and print out a pen carrier that clips onto the cover of the journal and holds between 1 and 7 writing instruments depending on how geeked out I want to get.
Design Criteria:
The carrier has to securely fit a wide variety of pens. (From thin mechanical pencils up to the diameter of the popular Pilot G2 size pens.)
The carrier has to fit on the cover of the Leuchtturm Medium journal (or equivalent thicker covered journal.)
The carrier has to be easily removable so another unit quantity carrier can replace it.
NOTES:
The design was made in Autodesk Inventor in INCH format. If your slicer imports the model very small, it is most likely importing in as metric by default. You will need to scale up 25.4 times to get the same scale in Inches.
Print design on its side on a raft for best surface finish.
Support material should not be needed.
Pens I love that were tested that fit: Sharpie Pen (Thinner Capped Version NOT Thicker Click Version), UniBall Signo RT, Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen, Foray Advanced Ink Needle Tip BallPoint, Pilot G2. The largest diameter I would comfortably go is the Pilot G2.
The Leuchtturm Medium journal cover thickness is appoximately .083 inches or 2.11mm.
