When I decided to enter the remix challenge I chose to remix a 3D model that could help people. I decided that instead of remaking the "paste pusher" I would remix it for those with a disability limiting their bimanual arm coordination.
It was important that the model be easy to assemble with one hand, yet able to be customized by the user. I started this remix by building a stand designed for accessories to snap onto. Then I designed two types of cup holders, a stand with four toothbrush holders, a bin for dental floss or other items of ones choice and an area to hold the toothbrush while the user applies the toothpaste; as well as, incorporating the "paste pusher" in the center of the stand to push the toothpaste to the open end of the tube.
In conclusion, My goal was to take an existing 3D design and remix this design for use by those individuals with a disability that limits their ability to use two hands to prepare their toothbrush for brushing their teeth.
