Summary

Warning: Object contains small parts that can become disassembled. Keep out of reach of small children and use guidance when letting younger or impaired persons use the object.

Updated 30/6/22 to fix a code error

Program updated with an edge rounding value to lessen sharper corners and edges, edge rounding is now on by default. Updated to increase render speed.

Parametric infinity cube generator with built-in supports, suitable for most 3D printers. Most values are adjustable with the rest being automatic. Press-fit design - requires minimal finishing.

Instructions
Print cubes first, then print 1-2 pins at a time increasing the tolerance until the pin fits snugly in the cube. It should require some force to seat the pin in the cube but you can also use glue if desired. A small amount of glue can be applied into the closed end of the pin retention.

Print two of those final pins and a hinge and assemble to test the tolerances between individual cubes, hinge cut-out widths and pins and adjust if necessary.

You will need in total:
1 x set of 8 cubes
16 x Pins
8 x Hinges

Print only 4-6 pins at once so a single failure doesn’t ruin a lot of parts. The pins should be pushed through their target supports to prevent removing the bottom layers of the pin.

You can use your chosen slicing software to split up the model for colouring individual cubes or for smaller printer beds. Triple check orientation of all blocks before beginning assembly as it is easy to mix up the various shapes.
