The design has two versions, standard and extended.

standard (files "parallel.holder_0.#.stl") can hold spools with a width of approximately 34-83 mm. Not necessary, but to improve hold and stability, clips (file "opposingClip_14.3mm.stl") can be added to the other ends of The Ultimate Spool Holders v.2.

extended (files "parallel.holder.extended_0.#.stl") сan be used with wider spools. Or may be convenient in some other cases. Spool width 34-120 mm. Adding clips will prevent full folding.


There are three files for each version of the holder. They provide different values ​​for the gaps in hinges and joints. You can choose the best one for yourself depending on the features of your 3D printer.
I got the best results from files with 0.4mm gaps in the hinges (printing on XYZprinting da Vinci 1.0 Pro). With such gaps, the hinges were released easily and the play was small.
