The sliding door that allows access to my bedroom is hollow so the latch that someone has fastened to it with 4 screws, easily comes off as the 4 screws aren't anchored into anything more than 1/8" worth of hardboard and the rest is air.
So, I drilled out 5/16" holes where the screws were (all the way through the door) and inserted this thing from the opposite side and voila! I can now have it securely anchored to something and sleep better at night for it.
I also painted mine before install so that it looked metallic from the outside.
