This is already our 2nd Phoniebox. The first one (Voxiebox) was built into a small Vox guitar amp. Still love it, but it is kinda bulky and heavy... so it was time for something more portable. And that's when we found this awesome owl model here on thingiverse.
This box uses RFID cards, which can be inserted into a card slot on the top side of the owls head. There are two speakers behind the eyes. Everything is powered by a Raspberry Pi inside the owls body. The base features all the controls (buttons) for play/pause, next song, prev song, volume up and down. As well as a power button, charging port and headphone jack (don't know if this is actually gonna work). Also there is a power bank inside the body which leads to a nice, low center of mass.
