For the leaf spring, haven`t found the perfect thickness yet in steel without some work, however, recoil starter springs of 8mm width would work, just spot weld a piece in the center to secure it like the plastic one.(spot welder type ( https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DmojK2V ) or something else that works.
