have designed the alpha concept bill acceptor - uses 2 photosensors 2 led's , ir sensor, limit switch micro(for counteracting the tape trick where they pull the bill back out after might need 2 or 3), and 2 color sensors for top and bottom probing in various spots while accepting bill.

some funny ideas for angry/happy vending machines

roughdraft
yelling vending machine where you have to yell at it for 15 min to get food from it. also face detector for sad, angry or happy face. also might need to shake and tap it consistantly. with free single popcorn dispenser that you have to use your fingers funny to get maybe semi sharp edges. jumping vibration sensors, games like simon or land on the spot while it blinks before you have to talk to it. also a turn the page type metal flap at horse walking speed for racing. also could have nice version with crooked smile face that makes sad feeling and flashes bright light when you say the word food or say things quieter.a pull the handle to play along with the tune fairly hard. also a blink detector that keeps you blinking. and make a low frequency humm while its being used.
