Summary

Empower your laser projects with our versatile, open-source manual power switching system. Designed specifically for hobbyists and DIY scientists, this compact solution streamlines your electronics setup.

Key Features:

  • Independent Control: Toggle each module on/off individually with dedicated manual switches.
  • Staggered Start-Up: Sequentially activates modules to accommodate high start-up currents and prevent power-up failures.
  • Series Connection: Streamline wiring by connecting modules in series with dual power cables.
  • Single Power Supply: Power all modules from a single source for a simplified setup.
  • DIY-Friendly: Easy to assemble with basic soldering skills and readily available components.
  • Expandable Design: Daisy-chain multiple systems together – there's no limit to how many modules you can control!

Perfect for:

  • LIBRE-hub laser module users: Expand and enhance your laser projects.
  • DIY Experimenters: Use laser technology safely and affordably.
  • Makers & Tinkerers: Build custom laser tools and gadgets for fun and learning.

Get Started:

All the information you need is right here!

  • Assembly & Wiring Instructions: The only component is a 3-pin manual switch with the following connections:
    • Pin 1 is soldered to the V+ line, that comes from the previous switch and goes to the next, providing a continuous path for power through the daisy chain.
    • Pin 2 is soldered to the laser V+ and acts as the switch control, connecting to pin 1 when closed, thus powering the laser module.
    • Pin 3 is soldered to the laser module's GND, completing the circuit for the laser when the switch is closed, and Pin 3 is also soldered to the GND line, that comes from the previous switch and goes to the next.
    • The switch toggles whether the laser module is connected between V+ and GND (on) or between GND and GND (off).
  • Daisy Chaining:
    • This design allows for easy expansion. By connecting the OUT pin of one component to the V+ pin of the next, you create a daisy chain. This means you can control multiple laser modules independently with a single power supply. Each module has its own switch, so you can turn them on and off individually as needed.
