This Totoro-phone is actually an ocarina and we can play the theme song of "The Neighbor Totoro".

For how to play the instrument please take a look at the screen capture image. There are four holes. Bottom of the image shows the finger configurations open/close for each hole.
This model should work for most of the FDM/SLA printers. Please print out the shape that is cut in half in the original printing direction (otherwise the wedge in the fipple may be damaged when removing support material).
We designed this ocarina using "PrinTone", a software we newly developed. Using the PrinTone, the user can turn any shape into a wind musical instrument. The software interactively predicts the tone of the instrument while adjusting the size and the location of finger holes and mouthpiece. The software is equipped with accurate acoustic simulation and can optimize the hole sizes to achieve target tones. Please check our project page!
