Start Your Copperplate Calligraphy Journey with Elegance

Introducing an elegant oblique penholder designed to enhance your copperplate calligraphy experience. As a penman myself, I often wished for a pen holder that perfectly suits my needs (especially in case of the appearance!) However, custom designs can be costly, but 3D printing has this amazing advantage of customizing at a very affordable cost. So here comes this version!

Updates:

v4 - Fixed the wrong opening direction for the right-handed flange. Flange opening size and length correction. Small adjustments to the overall shape for tip & tail balance.

Printing tips (from my own experience):

• Avoid printing the penholder horizontally, which will result in unsmooth surfaces on the side, not ideal for pen holding or appearance.
• Avoid support in the flange opening, it will be a huge pain to remove later.
• Printing vertically gives the best smoothiness and structual strength, however, if the tail is on the bottom, its structual strength will likely not support the tip and break at some point.
• Organic support is the easiest to remove and has minimum impact on the appearance.
• Printing in a small slanted angle from being vertical ended up being my best result, however, the problem with non-smoothiness is definitely a challenge to deal with.
