Hello, for those that don't know my ‘insert philosophy’ - I am creating modular inserts that are focused on reducing setup and space on table, filament consumption is not my highest priority, but of course I'm trying to save some material where I can.
My prints take a lot of time to print. Why? First of all, to save filament, electricity price is much lower than filament price (at least in my country). Second of all - total weight, if it's to high it can damage the box and our spines :D + weight also influence vertical storage, box can open by itself,
Clearence for holder covers is very small - 0.2mm horizontal, make sure that you have calibrated printer. In worst case - you could add like 0.2-0.4mm to cover width in the slicer,
This is a 2 box storage solution. That way, if someone has only base game + promos - everything can be stored in base game box. Patrons set mini expansion unfortunately won't fit in base game box (at least there is no designated space for it, but there is a bit space to have them loose in the box),
In base game box all promos are stored + common content from all expansions (like experiments, contracts, action tiles, setup cards, milestone tiles, nucleum, power plant, player aids). Additionally all player related components from all expansions can be stored in the player holders. Expansion boards and new tokens from the expansions + patrons set are stored in 2nd box,
There is one major drawback - box is very small, so there is little to none margin in player component holder, coin + uranium holder and achievement tokens holder.
Cardboard coins fit barely, it's very hard to close the lid with them. Metal coins are smaller, so they fit without issues. If you have cardboard coins and expansion - you could use Expansion_Holder to store some / all coins. If you don't have the expansion - I think better option here would be a plastic bag,
Cardboard achievement tokens - here situation is a bit better, it's a bit fiddly to fit them, but it's a matter of seconds to close the lid, not matter of minutes to reorganize the tokens like with cardboard coins. But it's not ideal, best option would be to replace them with smaller star tokens,
vertical storage,
sleeves 70 micron,
Australia expansion - common content fits in base box, new in 2nd box,
Court of Progress expansion - common content fits in base box, new in 2nd box,
Patrons Set mini expansion - fits in 2nd box, it could fit loose in base box,
metal coins - they fit much better than the cardboard ones in base box,
Player_Components_Holder - holds everything related to the player, including components from expansions / promos,
Experiment_Dashboard - holds experiment dashboard + technology tiles related to that experiment, you can slide them during the game,
Coins_Uranium_Holder - holds coins and uranium. It's very hard to fit cardboard coins, so if you don't have metal coins and expansions - it's better to omit this model and keep uranium and coins in plastic bag,
Achievement_Tokens_Holder - holds achievement tokens. Cardboard tokens fit, it's a tight fit, but it's a matter of seconds to close the lid. Best option here would be to buy / print stars,
Contracts_Holder - fits all contracts, including expansions and promos,
Setup_Holder - holds action tiles, nucleum, power plants, technologies action, special tiles, rubble tiles, setup cards, milestone tiles, coal import tiles, neutral urban building tiles, turbine tiles. From base game, promos and expansions,
Cards_Patrons_Holder - goes into 2nd box, stores patrons cards and rulebook,
Expansion_Holder_x2 - goes into 2nd box, in one holder you can store neutral boats, neutral politicians, coal mine tiles and some smaller boards from expansion. You could omit 2nd holder or print it for achievement tokens / coins - if you have cardboard ones it could be better to store some of them here,
about 622g for ALL IN (it can be lowered if you don't want to print 2 expansion holders), 510g for base game + promos (depends on your settings, I printed with 15% gyroid infill, 2 walls, 5 top and 3 bottom layers),
Supports - no supports required.
Enjoy!
