Summary

This is an adapter to substitute 2 PX625 toxic mercury cells with 2 SR44 silver oxide cells.

The compartment for the cells is designed a little bit off-center to leave enough space for an 1N4148 diode. This diode is necessary to reduce the voltage of the two SR44 batteries to the correct voltage for the Nizo 481 & 561 cameras.

The diode must be installed as seen in the pictures. Insert the wire of the diode through the tiny hole near the bottom into the chamber. Shorten or bend it a bit so that it lays on the floor of the batterie chamber, where the + side of the 1st SR44 touches it (picture 3).
Bend the wire by 90° and push the diode into the cut-out. Bend and push the wire into the corresponding wire cut-out (picture 4) and fold it under the bottom of the adapter (picture 5&6). Also fold the last tip of the wire around the opposite corner and align it into the tiny groove to fix it there.

You can use electric tape around the lower part of the barrel to cover the diode (picture 2).
