Summary

Just got a Nintendo Switch recently and came up with a idea of putting the console (w/ Joy Con removed) into a 3D printed cabinet. Should look cool especially with Street Fighter or KoF series.

The whole thing is designed in SketchUp and parts are separated for easy printing. You can adjust the wordings on the top cover ("Nintendo") to something else you like. I've uploaded the source file so in case you would like to redesign the DPad to a Joystick.

Assembly notes:

  1. Adjust the length of the support beam, top cover and keypad if you face tolerance issue. Should be fairly easy. (i.e.: You can use it for other screen with similar size)
  2. Assemble the beams and Dpad first by gluing or cold wielding (PLA wielding), followed by the side plate
  3. Slide in the Nintendo Switch with Joy Con removed
  4. Plug in charger cable if needed
  5. Cover the top plate (DO NOT GLUE)
    And enjoy!!!

Updates

2017_06_29: Photos uploaded! Ran out of filament so the prototype is all white (Epic fail)
2017_06_20: Rev.2 Support beam updated. Added in glue reservoir for better gluing effect (In case you don't use PLA cold wielding)
2017_06_16: Rev.1 Assembly reference model uploaded. Please do not print it.
I'm still printing the model, will upload photos once it is ready.
