Summary

I recently upgraded my Ender-3 Max Neo to use the Creality Sprint SE extruder. While this has been an awesome update to the printer, the filament runout sensor was now useless due to a different filament path. I wanted to get the sensor back inline, and was trying to find a way to do it. I also wanted to keep it closer to the extruder. After searching around online I decided to make my own.

I designed this to connect directly to the extruder with M3 screws. M3 screws are also used to attach the sensor to the plate. Depending on how you have your wiring set up I incorporated a harness to hold the wire bundle in place.

I have tested this on the X and Z axis and the print head is not impeded by this set up at all I was able to fully move left and right, and up to the max Z height.

10 Nov Update: Added a version without the wire harness.
