Summary

This is a case for holding needle files. I wanted to be able to easily remove and replace the file being used, so I envisioned this with a hinged file holder as well.

There are 4 parts. The snap-in holder for the file itself. You'll need 6 of those. The plate, to which the snap-ins attach on hinges. The case bottom, into which the plate is inserted (takes a bit of work as it is designed to be a tight fit. The good news is you don't have to glue it in. Then the case top, which hinges to the bottom.

The files slide into the holder, which hinges up and then back down for storage. This snap-in is sized to the handle slides down and you'll feel a slight snap.

You'll need to print six of the snap in file holders and attach them to the plate.

The plate slides very tightly into the case bottom. I didn't design the snap in hinge mounts into the case bottom because it would have been very difficult to insert the paper clip, which is used for the hinge.

The case top likely has to be rotated for best printing. Both the case bottom and top are best printed with supports for the hinge mounds and case clip.

The case shuts far tighter than I expected, considering the small distance. Over time, I suspect it will wear down and become a little easier to open.

I used large paper clips for the hinges. All of the hinge holes are 2mm.
