Summary

I wanted to improve the timelapse videos by keeping the distance from the camera to the print the same. With all the camera mounts i found, the print moved and made for a less than pleasing (to me) timelapse. Fixing the camera to the bed was the only way to do this. And i couldnt find any other solution.

This mount makes the print appear as if it is growing out of the bed nice and stable.

I went through many revisions. One was too thin and wobbley with the bed bouncing back and forward. One had a much much nicer design (imho) and worked well but was all as one piece but took 8 hours to print. This final design is "quick" to print and even more robust. But just not as fancy looking.

It comes in 5 parts (2 arms. The connecting beam, Camera holder and a bolt.) to reduce the ammount of supports needed.
It takes arround 3h30m to print the main part and another 10m for the bolt.

It slides on the sides using the hotbed standoffs as a locating point and stays pretty stable. The connecting beam sugs into the ends nice and tight. no need for glue, so you can take it off easily. There is a small cable clip on the right arm if you want to keep your cable a bit tidyer.

The camera mount will need to be glued to the slot in the beam.

The bolt is a seperate file, I recomend printing the bolt solid. as when i didnt i had a few failiures.
