SLS is Nasa's new super heavy lifting rocket that will ultimately return astronauts to the moon as part of the Artemis program. Despite plans for SLS appearing as early as the 1980s, it is embarrassingly over-budget and behind schedule. Political influence has set the program back years, but it seems like SLS is finally about to come together. Nasa hopes to test launch SLS in 2020.
